Kindergarten and 1st Grade Pumpkins

Kindergarten got to experiment with a little bit of color mixing for their pumpkin paintings. We used the primary colors to make secondary colors. We then cut out shapes for the faces to make different expressions.

I changed it up with first grade's pumpkins this year and we discussed the works of Yayoi Kusama, who is about to have an exhibit at the High Museum of Art this time of year in 2018. I introduced the artist using this Prezi .
She is famous for her polka dotted patterns and mirrored "infinity" rooms.

I even painted a pumpkin in the style of Kusama for Halloween!
