5th Grade Banyan Trees
These were made with black tempera paint for the tree and the rest was made with oil pastel.
The first day we talked about Banyan trees and what sets them apart from other trees and then I showed students how to draw it step by step in pencil.

The next class period we painted the tree black and then I showed them a demonstration on blending the oil pastels. The next few classes were spent filling up the white space around the trees.
