Romero Britto Olympic Symbols

This was a project 4th grade started back in August when the 2016 World Olympics were going on in RIO, Brazil. I thought it would be perfect to tie in the contemporary pop artist Romero Britto since he was originally from Brazil. We discussed different olympic symbols and what they stood for such as the olympic rings, the torch, and the different metals. Students chose one olympic symbol to illustrate but in the style of Romero Britto. When students analyzed and described artworks by Britto, these were the characteristics they came up with:

-patterns

-bold outlines

-bright colors

-sectioned off

-main image/symbol
