Kindergarten Fall Projects
Now that Kindergarten has mastered lines and shapes, we are now starting to talk about color. We started with talking about warm colors and cool colors and how in the Fall the leaves start turning warm colors before the fall and turn brown. Students painted precut green leaves with orange, yellow, and red paint. They then had to color the background with a white oil pastel of what kinds of lines they think wind would make before gluing down their leaves.
This week we started off color mixing by introducing primary and secondary colors. We watched this video before we started the lesson to get the kids excited.
We then mixed all of our secondary colors for our pumpkin paintings using only red, yellow, and blue.
We also started practicing cutting when they made their faces!
Next week we will read the story "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh and do a painting activity that goes along with the story.
