Pre K - Projects
The music teacher, Ms. Luhrs, and I did a Unit involving Pete The Cat. We watched several Pete the Cat Videos (since I don't have any of the books) and then we made our own Pete the Cat.
The next week the music teacher asked if I could help them make shakers or "maracas" for her class. We ended up making them out of small painted paper plates and filled them with beans. They used the shakers in music class in order to learn steady beat using a Pete the Cat song.
Last week they made jack-o'-lanterns with torn tissue paper and they cut the facial features. I love how expressive their faces turned out!
This week we continued our pumpkin art by listening to the song/poem "5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate"
We practiced printmaking techniques using a water bottle cap and orange paint for our pumpkins after making a fence out of pop sickle sticks. I gave them all q-tips to make the faces on the pumpkins.
