Van Gogh, Starry Night 1st Grade
This project ended up being pretty short. I introduced Van Gogh and different types of lines the first day and then showed this video to help explain how lines can create motion. The kids were amazed by this video. The first grade then started off their project by drawing the starry night sky with a step by step tutorial by me! We used dark blue constrruction paper and oil pastels to create the night time scene. The next week we added a city scape by cutting out buildings from black construction paper. They turned out so good! I love how even though we were all drawing the same thing, they all turned out different!
