Art 1 Clay Unit

For this Unit, students were asked to choose a famous painting from art history and turn it into a commemorative sculpture. They started out printing out the original picture and sketching it out in two different views on how it would look in 3D terms. The project was fun because they were making a 2D piece come alive by visualizing and creating it in their own 3D perspective. This was the first time they have been introduced to clay in High school, and the majority of them loved it! Here are some examples of student work from this project!
